Yeah if you read about Modest Mouse's early years on wikipedia, the name Steve Wold keeps popping up. aka Seasick Steve.

Do check out Jah Wobble as a solo artist as well. I am a big fan of Seasick Steve, but I am not aware of any Modest Mouse connection. I have a live CD of a Seasick Steve festival set from England from a few weeks ago that is rather wonderful

Yeah, that first PIL album is amazing, I particularly like Public Image and Death Disco. The best PIL album is Metal Box. The musical driving force in the band was Jah Wobble, who has made some very excellent solo records. Metal Box also featured Ginger Baker on drums. Musically, it is astonishing actually.

I just listened to Public Image Ltd. for the first time and their first album blows me away! I wasnt aware John Lydon was capable of such things!

I cant watch the Magnificent Ambersons. The thought that its not the way he wanted it and that all of the footage that was cut out was destroyed makes me feel sick. Im sure its still great but stuff like that depresses me.

Citizen Kane, The Magnificent Ambersons, his radio work with the Mercury Theater plus most of what I have seen from the fifties . I got the Stranger on DVD at the 99 cent store for fucks sake. I liked it a lot. I saw Othello a long time ago.

The Third Man is in my top ten of all time easily. And yes, F for Fake is the biggest bright spot for OLD Orson. I think of him as the definition of a "True" Filmmaker, even in his older years. The man was amazing and under appreciated almost his whole life. There is still so much I havent seen yet though. The Trial and Chimes at Midnighgt are at the top of the shortlist along with his version of Othello. I own on DVD Citizen Kane, Touch of Evil, The Stranger, The Third Man, and The Lady from Shanghai. Any specific ones you are a fan of besides Third man?

Very cool badges. I just saw Rachaels badge and I get it now. Welles is one of my heroes. The Third Man is one of my fave films. As for old Orson, I loved 'F For Fake'.

Haha. No, it was more supposed to parallel coming in third, ie. the third part of his life. As each "Third" as I thought of it progressed, it was a step down from what came before it so i thought it worked.
