Hey there. what's up with the up up? Thanks for the message. Been keeping busy I guess, even though my apartment is a complete pigsty. I mean- wow! I literally just throw my clothes on the floor. It's actually laughable. I'll put the photo in my pics on my page. My old computer is still on my desk. I haven't finished transferring files, but at this point, who cares if it's done.
I'm going to Florida on Monday to see my Mom and Dad. Monday is THE day. My stomach will be in knots and since I hate flying, it will be the size of a walnut. I feel nervous writing about it. I don't want to jinx anything. I am just being superstitious I guess.

other than that, I've been trying to be good. I even decided to talk to the friend who I had a falling out with last April. Little steps. I just saw a real interesting stage version of Our Town, which was good, but I forgot how depressing the end was. I felt like walking in traffic. I guess that's what triggered my questions of mortality, cherishing "the now" and trying to let bygones be bygones. I hate to throw in the cliche, but life IS too short. Don't worry, I didn't "drink the kool aid". I drank the Chocolate milk.:)

How awful. When did you move to the States in the first place? I hope you get it sorted out soon, it must be frustrating not to be able to visit in such a long time.

Sadly no gigs. We arrived Monday morning, and Tuesday I was in HMV for the new Animal Collective. A guy working there told me I had missed their show at Coco in Camden Monday night, and I was so bummed out. Even though it had sold out in advance. He almost had to comfort me in the store when I was buying the album. It was a school trip, though, so we didn't have any plans to go to concerts beforehand (no money and not a hell lot of planning either).

I really really want to go back sometime soon. It was awesome. We even saw the BFI and BBC. Just grreat.

Thanks for the birthday greeting. :) I wish I could see The Smiths live as well. They'd be one of the names to headline my contest mix, sure as hell. The one I haven't been around to making, because I've been so busy with other things. I came home from London last week, and I absolutely loved it to pieces!! (duh)

I watched The Go-Getter yesterday. Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward have a cover of Thompson's "When I Get to the Border" play during the credits. Both Zooey and M. are in the movie and Ward provides most of the musid for the film. Thought you might like to know on the Thompson love.

No, I've never heard anything by Seasick Steve. Sounds like something I should remedy.

It says something about Nick Cave's catalogue, that my favorites are almost completely different (well, it's not that I don't like those three albums...) - Boatman's Call is the one I hold a step above anything else he has done, then I suppose Let Love In along with No More Shall We Part. Tender Prey and Kicking Against the Pricks belong there too.
