I think it would be good if the cover art area was not limited to a square. I still make mix TAPES (yes, actual cassettes) and it doesn't fit. It would probably be easy, just constrain one side instead of both - like the longer side can be up to, say, 800px and the shorter side will be scaled accordingly.
It might be nice to also have a view for front AND back covers, or inside/outside views since some people decorate the actual CD or cassette.
