description:
"First of all you're using someone else's poetry to express how you feel. This is a delicate thing." Tell me about it. I worry that retracking one of my favorite films, and a Nick Hornby book, is somehow sacrilege. I was very excited at the prospect of watching movies on my new iPod and High Fidelity was the first movie I purchased from iTunes. I have my VHS copy, and now I have a comfort copy, that I can watch anytime, on my Touch. I've tried to keep the vibe of the film intact. This has been a great challenge. Thanks you, Bea.

Note: the songs "Baby I Love Your Way" and "Let's Get It On" are performed and Stiff Little Fingers and Stereolab are both mentioned by name, so, I guess they are void to this mix. Sha nana nanana naa naah naaah!

Here is my alternate soundtrack mix for the contest.

1 The Third Bardo : I Can Understand Your Problem

I love this, even though I have a confession to make: I have never seen High Fidelity. I guess it's time.

And I'm using Built to Spill in my contest entry as well, amusing to me because I know how incredibly different films we've chosen. :)

Ok- Shuggie, Built to Spill ,Smog AND Voice of the Beehive !!!! Also, just the fact that you wrote "the cats pajamas" are reasons enough that I would not only work in this record store, I would live underneath the shelves like a little monster.

I don't know all the music but the ones I know are spot on. This is a great piece of work.

'Hi-Fidelity' is something of a sore point with me. I love the book, enjoyed the movie, but I will never forgive them from transplanting the action from Hornby's native Camden Town, North London to Chicago. One of the things that pulls me in to Hornby's work is that he writes about my neck of the woods. I see my early life in every page he writes, recognize the thinly disguised places such as the George Robey pub and Ted Carroll's Rock On record store next to Camden Town tube. I identify so much with his writing on a personal level that seeing it all moved to Chicago was a shock, although I admit I did enjoy the movie and much of the feel of the book survived.

None of this is your problem Sir. Great work!
