The Halloween 2007 Badge
Happy Halloween 2007! In celebration of this event, here is a recipe to make your very own candy corn:
Combine 1 cup of razor blades, 2 cups of clown tears and 3/4 tablespoon spider eggs in a pan and bring to a boil stirring constantly. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat and add 2 cups hemlock and 3 ounces of fish oil. Stir until cool enough to handle. Shape and distribute.
Trick or treat!

I bake a lot. No, not that kind of baking, but food. Its a great stress reliever for me, and secretly, I am a 40 year old mom. I bake about 3 times a week and I am very particular about what I listen to. Often, there is no common theme in these songs that I can articulate, but me baking in the kitchen also doubles as karaoke. I make sure my roommate is gone, and I sing (terrible!) impersonations at the top of my lungs. It is definitely NOT the crowning achievement of my impeccable taste, but rather fun, silly and full of songs that I really get into.

I don't really like boys. I don't really like girls, either. I am mostly uninterested in dating; however, a boy has come along who totally intrigues me. I want to date him. It is turning me into an inarticulate ball of cheese. I am now an irrational, silly teenage girly-girl.This mix is along those same lines.

Recently, many of those around me have been urging me to seek out "professional help." To them, I say, "fuck you" in the nicest way possible. This isn't very long, but it gets the job done.

I realized this morning that I pretty much listen to the same songs while walking to school, between classes, and on my way to work so I've decided to chronicle my morning, post leaving my room.
* The cover is of the top of campus. Back in the day, some mortuary donated those pillars, and for some reason ISU mounted them on a hill.

I went to high school in the suburbs of salt lake city. Fortunately, my school had a radio station and my best friend and I had a radio show. We didn't have the best selection of music, but we made do.Now that I go to college in a different state, I don't get to see her as often as I would like so I made this mix to remember those good old radio shows.

As an English major, I am drawn to music with literary references and thought I would start out my membership with a mix of some of my favorites. I did not hold myself to any rigid standards, so some of them are more roundabout than others. This mix is by no means all -inclusive and I am sure that I am missing many good ones. Also, I usually am opposed to having the same artist on a mix twice, but I made an exception for this one.
