Bob Mould from Husker Du lives in DC now and he Djs a club night in one of the local clubs.

I also did a 70s mix at the same time, but there has been so many new mixes posted in the last 24 hours it vanished of the recent mixes board.

I lived and worked in Birmingham in the mid 80's. I was in a guitar shop one day when in walked Roy Wood, red and green hair and all. He was a really soft spoken nice bloke! The very first Move album is still an all time favourite of mine. As for Steppenwolf, it is my fault for listening to classic rock radio in the USA!

I love the Move; A guy I used to work with got me into them, he still goes to see Roy Wood on every tour, and apparently they exchange Christmas Cards. As for the Steppenwolf; sorry about that I havent heard it for such a long time I thought it would be a good addition.

My dad has seen Dr John a couple of times, and he took me once. I was twelve and hated it!

I also turned down the opportunity to see live aid. I went to Stonehenge instead.

Weirdest thing. One Sunday in the late eighties, I was over by Clapham common and there were a couple of hundred people gathered round the bandstand. I had no idea what was going on. Of all things, it was Dr John with a full band doing a free gig. He played for ages and it was one of those odd little quirks of fate that makes life interesting!

I am a Sherlock Holmes freak too, plus a fact nerd, as you know!

Thanks Immers. I don't suppose Sheena Easton will be featured in part 2 of your Scottish mix though will she. I was suprised she was in mine, but that track really fits in.

Back in the 80s, I went to an 'Industrial' evening at Dingwall's in Camden Town and saw Throbbing Gristle amongst others. It was a very weird experience.

I love the Divine Comedy, Alway great pop tunes.

Actually You are right, Richard Jobson was annoying, I remember him now on Channel 4! I liked 'Working For The Yankee Dollar' though when it came out!

They started off as The Rezillos and became The Revillos I think.

skids dont make it because of the fact I dislike richard jobson with a passion. he used to present a programmes on BBC scotland, and he irritated me. I actually have we hate the revillos (or was it the rezillos??) on vinyl at my parents house, and thank you for not mentioning big country or simple minds :) I may go for a volume 2 soon though, as there was a lot I missed out on.

I like the fact that the two Brits I know of here at the collective both rabidly post mixtapes!

My Mothers side of the family come from Scotland, I lived in Morningside, Edinburgh for a bit, and worked in Aberdeen in Children's theatre for one long bloody cold winter!
