Yeah, I can see what you mean, but I kind of like how kind of "out of nowhere" it is, you know? The thing i like about the vocal itself is that it almost seems like anyone could have sung it. I dont know if that makes sense, but what i mean is that you could probably drag anyone from a little girl to a member of a senior citizen choir in to record that song and it would still work i think. I know that makes it soound shitty probably, but i mean it in a good way.

Ok, Scotland's Shame is really good, but I think my favorites right now are Sun Meadow and Local Authority. There is not one bad track on album or EP, but I could have done without the vocal on Devil Rides

True Story: Around 20 years ago now I sat up with a friend all night who was very depressed. I tried to think of things to cheer him up and finally said "How about if I wrote to Charles Manson in prison and asked him if he would play a postal chess game?" My friend liked the idea. We didn't get a reply, but from that came 'the game'. We each had to write to celebs/world leaders/etc on the others behalf. The game kicked in if you got a reply. You then had to guess what the original letter had said. For instance, I got a letter from the Queen's lady in waiting thanking me for my kind regards but informing me that the information I requested was not now and would never be available. A letter from Margaret Thatcher's office when she was UK priminister, signed by her, thanked me for drawing her attention to this new 'helium' menace and that her government would reseqrch it and take action where needed. I figured that one out, "I" had draqwn her attention to the new drug menace amongst our nations youth, the sniffing of helium freely available in balloons nationwide. The cool thing was that I recieved the reply the week Thatcher was supposed to respond to some bomb outrage somewhere but she had been silent. My friend qand I liked to think it was because she was devoting all her time to this helium menace!

Looking forward to hearing 'Earth'

I never liked going to concerts alone, not even when I was on the prowl because unlike most of my friends when I went to a concert it was to listen to the music. Cave is a pretty prolific tourer so I do hope to see him again. n the late 80s early 90s I lost count of the amount of times I saw him live. I think I saw 4 or 5 dates on the Good Son tour alone!
