I saw Jesse :the devil: Hughes from Eagles of Death Metal while I was standing in front of school today. He was carrying an Amoeba bag in one arm and had a foxy chick in the other.

I have the alcohol tolerance of a 7 year-old, but if I were to drink I would go to the Burgundy Room, on Cahuenga, south of Hollywood. It's a punk rock place, but it's the best of what's over in that area. There is also The Well, which I think is on Sunset near Gower. Also, the Vanguard which is where Lindsay lohan hangs out it's sooooo hot.
I don't really go to local places, I just live here because it's convenient. There's a place called the Echo in Echo Park, and also Music Plus TV, which is musicplustv.com. They do $10 open bar friday nights and they're by the 101 and Alvarado. The other option is open bar art shows, yay, usually red stripe. I don't know of any that are coming up yet. I feel like I'm leaving something out, I'll report back with a new novel later, have fun at school/amoeba.

I havent been avoiding amoeba, I have failed. That place is like a buggzapper. Most of what Ive done in that area is school related but I did go to the 3 of Clubs bar on Santa Monica and Vine, which was alright. Any recommendations?

Why don't they make headphones mandatory? I honestly never go there, except when I feel like throwing up on the "rock walk". What else have you been doing in these parts? Other than avoiding amoeba?

I went to guitar center on sunset yesterday. I had to buy some $120 headphones for my sound design class. I dont think I would ever want to hear a guitar ever again if I worked there. Guitar Center should put out a series of "experimental" cd's that are just recordings of what their stores sound like. Each Cd could be titles what store location it is. Although, it is possible sonic youth might have done that already on a few of their albums.

guitar center is in your neck of the woods, about half a mile west, maybe a little more. It's still in the shady sunset area, before it gets all west hollywood and fancy. You can gauge this by how many prostitues are sitting at the bus stop.
When I moved here I just drove around late at night with whoever was willing and tried to figure shit out, looked for decent food establishments and places to live.
You know you have semi-music heaven across the street from your school? Yeahhh, it's pretty overwhelming and sometimes annoying but it's nice to visit. I also hear that people who aren't from the southwest enjoy in-n-out a lot, I'm sure you've been there already. There are also random bars within walking distance, but the best one in that area is the burgundy room.

is the guitar center anywhere near my schools neck of the woods, or is it far off? I still dont really know my way around. I do know that sunset is long.

Im only a week in, so far its good. I guess only time will tell if its worth the $45,000. It's one year program so Ill be out in no time.
