The Friday the 13th Badge I
Friday the 13th taught us all the heartwarming lesson that if you are a camp counselor, it's probably not in your best interest to let that (potentially mentally retarded [see wikipedia]) kid swim alone while you are trying to get a piece of ass.

So I try to enlighten people on good music, sometimes they respond well, other times... not so much. With my mother, I keep it simple. So I gave her a copy of Jeff Buckley's "Grace" album. I talk to her a few days later and ask her what she thought of it. Her words were (and I am not making this up or adding anything) - Well, some of it was good, but some of it was really weird. Some of it sounded like Led Zeppelin, I felt like I should be doing drugs or something.
Ahh... mothers...

Jeff... "good" and "wierd" priceless. Sadly, I don't dare make a mix for dear m'm.
I never get a chance to listen to music with my mother. The best music comments come from my father. I forget the artist (Sarah McLachlan?) that was playing when my father once remarked, "Do people actually take lessons to learn how to sing like that? It's like a cat being drowned." Thinking about that comment, that is how I actually feel about Paula Cole.

Proofreading is an exercise that doesn't create defined abs in my brain.

Perhaps I should make a straight-to-video sequel (you know, one that is never even near as good as the first one, and always has a different cast) for Eric's "Songs My Mother Will Never Understand" mix.
