Wow, one of your mixes is doing swell in the ratings! But remember, Bob Dole did 'swell' in the primaries...

I'd like a way to delete and / or rearrange a mixtape. Of course, points would be docked, and if one were to change the keywords to Mix Contest ___ then they would be reset to 1000 (thereby making the playing field even for contests), but too often am I displeased with my mixtapes after they're finalized..

I actually don't like the idea of being able to edit or delete a mix once it's posted. In "real life" if you make a tape for someone and send it/give it/etc, then that's it... there's nothing you can do about it, and it's theirs to enjoy. To me, finalizing/activating the mix is like handing it to that person. I don't like the idea of seeing a mix one day, and then the next day it's gone. What if I spend a day to gather the songs and listen to it, and go back the next day to rate it and it's gone. OR the song order has been changed. OR entirely new songs have been added, etc etc. Way too messy, dude. You get asked "Are you SURE you want to do this?" when you're about to post it. Double check it. Triple check it. Spend time thinking about the selections. Listen to the selections. Take the time beforehand. And if you make a mix that for some reason you end up not liking in a month... oh well. There was something about it that you liked at the time you posted it. If you send me a tape in the mail but then 3 months later decide you don't like the song order, are you going to call me and tell me to send the mix back so you can tape over it? Just make a new one!!!
And little track note screw-ups here and there? Truth is, the person who actually posts the mix is going to sweat that stuff, while the rest of the people viewing the mix/rating it could care less... they'll get the idea and it won't matter. And if it's such a big deal, spend more time BEFORE you post it-- proofread it, use the preview function and go through it like another user would see it, etc.

OR... if for some reason eric and corey want to incorporate this edit/delete function (hopefully not), they should do this: For any edits made after the mix is posted, that person's points go back to the beginning... and I'M talking about USER POINTS AND USER LEVEL... back to the beginning! That'd be real tight, a move that drastic.

i can see how it would be nice to be able to edit our mixes.
BUT, when it really comes down to it, I think it'd just be wrong.

I agree with ParYen.

Oh, I agree with ParYen totally, and was even concerned with that before I posted. I wouldn't consider changing my mixes, but I've noticed that people screw up a lot. And if someone like T-bag *cough* changed his ways and wanted to get rid of all of his shitty IHATEYOU mixtapes, I think he should have the right to delete it.

I second that. Mixing is a learning process. When I first started I made a mix were so of my discriptions got all screwed up, but that's life. Sometimes your tape player eats your tape.

When we were designing the system, we thought long and hard about it. Our verdict: mixtapes are FINAL. that's why there's a little popup.
