Is it me or is this way too much tape for a mixtape?
I bought a 10-pack of these at Target today, because I'm headed to Virginia for two weeks with nothing but a tape player. Sixty minutes each side is just insane.
Do you have any suggestions for albums that are good / in the two-hour range?

For albums that are just plain good:
Television - Marquee Moon
Both albums by Ataxia (John Frusciante, Joe Lally)
Smog - Dongs of Sevotion
All three releases by The Oxes (OXES, OXXXES, Oxes Ep)
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Abbitoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus
Grinderman - Grinderman
The Halo Benders - God Dont Make No Junk
Goon Moon - Licker's Last Leg
That should be plenty for now

If we are going down Bad Seed Avenue, 'Kicking Against the Pricks' and 'Tender Prey' are essential, but I suspect you have them already!

I can't find that Deluxe version of Daydream Nation ANYWHERE. Definitely not cool. But those other albums, I'm checking those out, I'm leaving tomorrow so I'd better get a move on.

Not yet. I'm working my way backwards chronologically.

You should avoid 120 tapes. they make the tape thinner to fit more tape on the spindle and so the jam real easy and don't last as long
but I do have several 2 hour DJ mixes

Yeah, I figured that out.
Another con is the fact that most albums are just over an hour - eighty minutes, which does not fit well AT ALL.
I'm thinking of getting a C8 (they have them) and making a grindcore mixtape. It'd be really high fidelity lo-fi, no?

Yeah, I bought them in the 70s. Woolworths used to have them cheap.
