ooh, I went to the midnight show... what did you think of the movie?
It was entertaining buuut I'm a Lit student, so the omissions of many of the book's themes (especially on racial and gender equality) made me pretty pissed off. I could rant for awhile about all that, and I have...Overall though, it was pretty magical! I'll give it that, haha.

Anyway, I'm psyched for the book, because I'm sure it's going to be just as good as 1-6. :D

I'm going to go see it in a few weeks when the hype has died down and the god damn kids have gone back to school, so i can watch it in PEACE!

I'm expecting it to be shit. Who the fuck is this Daniel Yates anyway? (is that his name?) I heard he's a tv director who has only made one feature before this (which wasn't even released in Australia). Who is this guy fucking or does he have a rich powerful daddy?

P.S. Why is the longest book the shortest film?

Please rant more about the racist and sexist themes in the book. I'm interested.

I thought the movie was the best of all of them so far. It at least seems that the director, David Yates, has read the books...but as an avid book reader I'm never satisfied with the things they leave out in book to movies of any kind.

The new book is going to rock my world though. No spoilers here. :)

Thankyou! Most people wouldn't spoil it but you never know. There are some weirdos out there.

I heard he even messed with the plotline... I don't think anyone has changed it that much.

The third film is amazing. I'd like it even if I wasn't a Harry fan. I still can't belive Alfonzo Cauron made a Harry Potter film. All the others make me sad.

I think Bea is talking about David Radcliffe's turn in the English-equivalent of a broadway play titled Equus. He plays a sadistic, animal-raping naked character.

Anyway, I'm going to a Harry Potter party at Barnes and Noble but I failed to reserve my copy in advance so I'm going to go to Best Buy tommorow and get it.

Oh yeah right. I hadn't heard the name of the play. It's so funny that he's trying to be a 'serious' actor and even more funny that he thinks the quickest way of getting there is getting naked.

P.S. Is anyone worried that they'r going to let the ending slip in the news? I'm freaking out.

"The British version of a Broadway play" is not quite right. Equus is a brilliant play by English writer Peter Schaffer who also wrote 'Amadeus' and 'The Royal Hunt Of The Sun.' The original production premiered in London's West End in the 70s and I was lucky enough to see it. The play is about a disturbed young man who mutilates horses and the therapist who begins to unravel the reasons why. The use of movement in the show was revolutionary at the time and the nudity is essential to what happens on stage and is no way prurient. I don't think it is funny at all that Radcliffe has had a go at this play, in fact I admire him for it. It is maybe one of the key British plays of the late 20th Century and I kind of admire him for it. Now I admit that many of the people in the audience every night did so b4ecause of curiosity about Radcliffe and his exposed bits rather than a love for creative drama, but that is not entirely his fault. Sorry to go into pompous mode but I love this play.

By the way, There was a movie made of the show with Richard Burton as the shrink.

My girlfriend works at a book retailer at a mall.

I went to drop off some late night dinner to her and there were kids and teenagers everywhere. The kids were into it, but the teens looked like they were just bored and needed somewhere to hang out for the evening.

I went and saw the new movie tonight..meh. It would help if I was into it,but I am just not.

I meant the British version of Broadway. I don't know what they call their play system there.
