Despite the fact that TEAM ROBOT was crushed like a Pabst can at a frat party by the might claws of TEAM MONSTER, you are still deserving of a badge... Loser.

One of my prized possesions back home is the three track maxi single of "Get Down And Get With It", the first really big Slade hit. They made a movie as well, and had a running tv comedy sketch about them. They were a laugh, but they could play and they did have good songs. I never knew about quiet noise!

Yeah I asked my dad who did "Cum On Feel the Noize" first and he was like "I'm pretty sure it was Quiet Riot." I was like.... no.

Slade were very popular in America...
but they were called Quiet Riot...
and included none of the original members.
Actually, no one knew they were listening to Slade cover songs. They said "Boy, that Quiet Riot sure have a lot of great songs."

First up, much praise for the poptastic cover art, mate! Haven't thought about Smashie and Nicey since I moved to the USA. Harry Enfield is all over the box advertising Burger King here though! As for the mix, many songs right out of my past. In fact tracks five to eight could well be the soundtrack to my fifth year at school! Around that time I used to see SAHB play at the Torrington in North Finchley. I recal Budgie having an LP called "If I Were Brittania, I'd Waive The Rules" and I think they were Welsh. I also remember seeing them at The Roundhouse on the same bill as Stray, but for the life of me, I can't remember what they sounded like. I saw AC/DC supporting The Who at Wembley and the PA went on the fritz. The sight of the band leaping around but no sound coming out was pretty funny. I have had a truly awful day, the kind that only happens once or twice in a lifetime, and this mix has cheered me up a hell of a lot. Thanks!
