Despite the fact that TEAM ROBOT was crushed like a Pabst can at a frat party by the might claws of TEAM MONSTER, you are still deserving of a badge... Loser.

I think SRV is one of those American artists who is revered in his own state and the rest of the world, but not for some reason the rest of the US. Soon after he died his brother did a tour supporting Clapton in the UK. People came out just to pay homage to the brother of SRV. Stevie Ray was simply one of the greatest electric guitarists ever. Some have technique, some have feel, some have originality. He could play in anyone else's style and be convincing ( Hendrix, Albert Collins, T-Bone Walker for example) he was a great feel player, and he did have that gut crunching sound that was all his own. He is in my top three!

A special badge for the first-place winner of the fabled robots vs. monsters mixtape contest. As my boy Johnny 5 would say, "Robot Team kick your ass, Robot Team Kick your face, Robot Team kick your balls into outer space"

Wow, one of your mixes is doing swell in the ratings! But remember, Bob Dole did 'swell' in the primaries...

Awesome mix. I was planning to do a mix with the Night and Day -> Sleepwalk transition myself, but I'm very lazy.

You're finally legal! Huzzah! We all know you've been boozing since you were 13, but don't worry, we'll keep quiet.

Now, get off the damn computer and go hit up the bars.

I think some of Mayer's music is good. But often his lyrics drag what had the potential to be -- on the whole -- very good, into bad Stevie Wonder and American Idol silliness.

I guess the last time I saw Kid Johnny Lang way back when he was 14 or 15 and playing in tents and beer gardens. At that age he was prodigious, and I liked the idea of the talent granted to a kid from Fargo. I admit I haven't kept up with him in recent times.

I like the idea of Mayer more than what he has come up with so far. I do like this track, and a few of the trio things. I just like that someone with a vaguely youthful profile is having a go at this kind of thing, and hope he does good stuff in the future. Johnny Lang has youth on his side, but I find him too much of an "ugly" guitarist, without the emotion in his playing. Kid Ramos is pretty good.

I really like most of this; but John Mayer, I do not. And I especially don't like his current configuration as a Jack White impersonator. There is only one Jackie White, and he's done been here and gone.
Were we to replace Mayer with early Kid Johnny Lang and the Big Bang (I guess now he's just Johnny Lang) we've got a deal.
