The One Year Anniversary Badge badge
The One Year Anniversary Badge
Issued to those who have stuck it out for a year here on MTC. What a long, strange trip, huh?
awarded on 2009-01-28

Level 17
I heard Cathy Geiss is the costume of the year 2008.

If I were to dress up, I would dress up as Trillian in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I need to make the three-armed dress shirt first.

How many people do you think will dress up as Sarah Palin?

My guess is a bjillion.

Despite the fact that TEAM ROBOT was crushed like a Pabst can at a frat party by the might claws of TEAM MONSTER, you are still deserving of a badge... Loser.

There was a TV comedian in the UK called Dick Emery. Just after he died it was fashionable to fix a piece of sandpaper to the general penis area and arrive at the party way after midnight. When asked who you had come as, you just had to say "The late Dick Emery" Not viable today so instead I suggest a boring usual costume and a rationale for it that makes no sense. for instance, dress as an arab tribesman, and tell people you have come as Elvis Costello. They will not get the connection (there is none)but will be so desperate not to be seen to be not getting the joke that your costume will be accepted without question. One time I wore a Who style Union jack jacket and a large clock and went as British Summertime, but that had some logic to it, so it didn't work. The condom full of change is always good (Johnny Cash) but I like the unconnected ones best, like dressing as a sea Otter and claiming you have come as an old testament prophet

Yay!

I'm no good with costume ideas. Okay, I'm no good with patience - trying to make the costumes. The last time I put effort into a costume I was Homestar Runner as Robert Smith. I grew so tired of explaining my costume to people that I burnt out on dressing up.
