Hahah! Was Ellen Carvhalo teaching at Phoenix when those of you who went to Phoenix were going to Phoenix? If she was, you probably know about her issues:
Don't say 'gay' around Ellen. Her sister, or aunt, or cousin, or someone important to her was gay. I don't disagree with this, because using gay as a synonym for stupid is disrespectful. But Ellen yelling about it was funny.
Then, you couldn't say 'retarded,' because once again, sister, cousin, aunt, uncle, brother, whatever in her life, was retarded. I sort of agreed again, but still made fun of her.
Then, one day, someone said they got 'gypped'. I never could have imagined anyone caring. Then Ellen says, 'Don't say gypped! It's derogatory to gypsies.' Yes, she said it.
One of the best things I ever did in high school was, a few months after that gypsy incident, to tell Ellen, 'I got gypped by a gay retard.' Hahahah! I thought she was gonna cry!
