It's because 174 days ago, one of the dudettes that run this site was working on something and accidently made it to where everyone was logged on. All the people that last logged on 174 days ago probably havent logged on since they signed up.

we are introducing an 'active' status in 2.0. People will be marked as inactive after X amount of time.
Their profiles will still exist and can be navigated to directly, but will be filtered out of top lists/random searches/etc.
If they come back to the site, they will automatically be made active again.
