Forgive my naiveté if this already exists…
So I wanna add some uber-emo track to my “Cry a River†mix but low and behold I am the only person on MTC (or on earth) that likes Devin Davis – who consequently is nowhere to be found in the database. I am now forced to open iTunes, locate the track, key in the info, and wipe my brow. Most clients worth their salt will dump local song libraries to xml. These could be used as a data source to mass-populate artists, albums, tracks and other fun meta-info. Granted it is probably not practical to scrub/merge/normalize my zillion song play list while others are using the app. But why not add an interface to upload mylibrary.xml to a staging location, chillax until the wee hours of the night, and then have cron or something similar kick-off the script to process said import files? Then I could be sure that your system is polluted with enough songs to properly craft my crappy mixes.
I am sure that there are many reasons not to do this as well…just and idear.

I enjoy submitting data. Simple as that. I say make an effort. Good karma.

The work it takes makes the points you gain from each song/album/artist all the more worthwhile. Granted I haven't submitted chunks of data in ages, but it's fun to do when you have time to kill.
WILL WORK FOR MTC.
