when i was in high school marchin' band some of my friends discovered a full series of mario sheet music in our school music megadungeon, and tried to convince our band director to let us have that as our theme each year of school.
instead, we got (from freshman to senior year):
westerns, star trek, pirates of the carribean, little shop of horrors (WTF!?). lame.
ps. i honestly got a little teary when they played the pokemon theme. it took me completely by surprise. god i'm an idiot.
