They are here! They are pretty simple, but hopefully enjoyable. The posting is pretty fast, so I'm hoping that discussions get pretty frenetic. If you encounter any bugs or have any suggestions, make a post in the 'Suggestions' forum.

That... and working on 2.0. Eric and I bit off way more than we can chew, but it's going to be rad.
Knowledge after 5 months of working at a professional Web company > Knowledge in college.
I'm still working on the framework that we are going to build the site with. But holy crap, it's worth it. Although, we've been at that step for 3 months... I estimate that the average page will take about 1/10th of the time to develop... and when you consider that we have 75-100 individual pages tucked in here or there, it's going to pay off =).
For anyone interested in technical specs: the page will still be database driven, but we are building a custom caching system to reduce database load... all frequent queries (stuff like friends lists, recent visitors, # of users online... shit that is on every page load) has been streamlined to be cached between page loads and updated via a trigger/event system from one table that is stored in memory (no more table lockouts hopefully!). We also have a an entire side process handling system that will schedule queries/jobs to be run periodically through the day (ie, we can cache top lists and update them every x minutes, etc). The best part is the timing/flow of these processes (of which there will be many) is controlled via database values, so we can adjust dynamically on the fly if we need to. Oh, and not to mention our own custom-tailored ajax framework that makes development fast and easy (profile rating in 1.0: 15-20 lines of js, 5 lines of php on the calling page, and about 20-30 on the ajax triggered page.... in 2.0, it's about 5-10 lines of php, and the framework handles the rest!)

The Friday the 13th Badge I
Friday the 13th taught us all the heartwarming lesson that if you are a camp counselor, it's probably not in your best interest to let that (potentially mentally retarded [see wikipedia]) kid swim alone while you are trying to get a piece of ass.
