This is a C60 mix for driving my wife's '96 Ford Windstar, on the days she has part-time work past "the point of the mountain." Stylin'
Several weeks ago I created a mix with the first eight tracks. Tracks 1-7 represent Winter 2008 for me. I added the Cut Chemist track to bring the mix closer to a half-hour. Well, it turned out to be 29m29s long. It's dumb, but 29:29 struck a chord with me. You can't round it up to a half-hour. It seemed, somehow, perfect.
Since the creation of that mix, I've gone through six other mixes that total 29:29, but nothing gelled quite as well as the first, semi-inspired mix. (That happens a lot with mixes, yes?) Now, I've arrived at the b-side, that has been well road-tested and here ya go. Side two (9-19) is my shameless singing in a forest green van collection. I quite love this tape. It's one for my time capsule I'll never bury.

Dr Who, Wreckless Eric and Rev Horton Heat, this is a cornucopia of wonderfulness! I was lucky enough to see the 'Stiffs Greatest Stiffs' tour in 1976 which featured Nick Lowe/Dave Edmunds, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, Larry Wallis (ex Pink Fairies) Madness, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, and Wreckless Eric. Costello's song 'Pump It Up' was written about the backstage excesses of that tour. For Wreckless Erics twenty minutes on stage, Ian Dury played drums, and I think Nick Lowe was on bass. He did 'Whole WIde World' twice in all it's stripped down glory. No one can say 'Tahiti' like WE!
