Two-night event. Six bands. One resurrection.

night one - at the Winchester - hosted by Bill Nighy

Black Mountain, The Black Angels and The Black Keys

The Winchester (Shaun of the Dead) is no stranger to the undead, so I thought this would make an adequate, small venue for night one. These three bands will have a chance to work their "Black" magic, ha haaa!, leading up to the nights main event. Before the Keys encore, Jones (SLC Punk, “I'm gonna prove there's no Satan.”) will successfully bring John Bonham from the afterlife to the storage room of the Winchester, while The Cult’s “Resurrection Joe” plays on the juke box. Bonzo will be available for a small meet and greet to all those with back bar passes and psychic paper.

rest well

night two – The Empress Ballroom - hosted by Tom Waits

Jane’s Addiction, Soundgarden and Led Zeppelin

I struggled to settle on a “perfect concert”. What I’m offering is an incredibly kick ass concert event. Jane’s and Soundgarden had elements of Zeppelin in them, and night two is a chance for them to reunite and showcase how incendiary they are (once were?).

note: Eric Avery and Chris Chaney will play their respective songs with Jane’s. Likewise, Hiro Yamamoto and Ben Shepherd will play their respective songs with Soundgarden. Flea has a ticket to hang from the rafters.

After the end of night two, I will plan to either join Bonham on his way back upstairs, or be in a coma with a shit eatin’ grin on mah face, with the music I’ve heard looping in my head. win-win

I first knew of Black Mountain because The Black Angels covered No Satisfaction on an EP. “Wucan” was on a magazine sampler and it quickly caught my attention. Black Mountain was name dropped as a band with whom The Black Angels would like to tour.

Billy gets a ticket to the show. If Ian would promise not to fall into his bad habits of his trademark skippy fitting and then breathy, halted singing, I’d sign them up. I love this song. Very wonderful. Believe it or not, but Bill Nighy was on my list of possible M.C's. I spotted him once coming out of the Shepherds Bush Empire in London after a John Martyn concert. I got up the nerve to talk to him, and although his speech was somewhat slurred he seemed a very jolly bloke, pretty much what you would want him to be, and a big John Martyn fan. Black Keys were also on my list, and may yet make the concert!

As for the 2nd day, I have seen those bands live but not altogether. I saw Janes Addiction supporting Fields Of The Nephillim at Brixton Academy. J's A were astonishing. like the eclectic song choices, I like everything about this. Just hide the vodka from Bonzo
