description:
The 90s were a time of major growth and development for me. I was 8 years old when I bought my first cd: Radiohead's Pablo Honey. A proud day for the music gods, but then my musical taste became exponentially worse by trendy standards. There may be a few gems in here, but the lot of them are guilty pleasures. I based this mix on all the songs that tend to rear their heads on a night of drunken karaoke. Because when it comes to what people want to hear when they're good and smashed - it's all about the 90s.

tracklist

1 Heart : All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You
Ah, power ballads. The thing about this song is that people like to pretend they don't know it/hate it/think it's lame. But you get those people alone and a little buzzed: then they will magically know all the dramatic cadences and syllabic emphasism down to a t.

2 Digital Underground : The Humpty Dance
Not exactly of the grammy-winning caliber, but this song is guaranteed to make people laugh/dance/put on prosthetic noses. "My name is Humpty. Pronounced with a Umpty." Two words: fucking BRILLIANT.

3 Q Lazzarus : Goodbye Horses
So this EXTENDED version was released in 1991, trying to capitalise on its previous success on the Silence of the Lambs OST. This reissued song was received much better, considering it's hard to shake your first success being marred by the picture of a psycho-killer wearing women-skin. Memories.

Who doesn't remember this song? Remember how because of the violent music video, MJ had to issue a public apology? An apology for being awesome?

This is probably one of the more embarrassing tracks on this mix for me. And yes, there was a time where I MAY or MAY NOT or MAY have attempted to wear my clothing backwards.

7 Suede : Animal Nitrate
What does it take to turn you oooooon? I'll be damned if the advent of this album didn't influence the betterment of my musical interests. Bernard Butler's guitar stylings had me dreaming of a better life. Brett Anderson had me dreaming of... things that are none of your business.

10 Collective Soul : Shine
So... I know I might get a bit of flack for this one, seeing as how it was the anthem for the Virginia Tech shooter who happened to be Korean, like me, and who happened to listen to this song about a million times a day, like me, and who also happened to have a completely rational obsession for weilding dangerous weapons, like me. Wait, what?

*In all seriousness, I really loved this song when I was younger and I really dont know why.

I can't believe you think big business sucks dick? with bands like TLC, Kriss Kross, and Third Eye Blind to be put as challenges against big business, I suggest a change in your game plan...considering the only bands that can hold there own against a band as powerful as Big Business would be tracks-3, 8, 12, and 15---
