description:
one summer day in July, I was driving to my friend Max Freeman's house. We were on a mission (along with Sharp Woolston and Steven Turney) to go to Mountain Home, AR to see our friend Travis Keymer's band, Burn Baby Burn.
After picking up Sharp, we were on our way to Alpena (where Steven and Max live, about 15 minutes from town), when Sharp suggested we pick up Steven first. I had planned on getting Max, then Steven, but phuck it, I like Steven, why not pick him up?
At this point, Sharp and I had been listening to the Melvins '(A) Senile Animal', just gib-gazming at every drum turn. Then, I put in 'Sister' by Sonic Youth.
I was pulling into Max's driveway, right turn signal on, when Brad Carroll, a native of Carroll County, rear-ended me doing 60 mph. Sunuvabitch!! You know the part in 'Schizophrenia' by Sonic Youth when the drums are building up, and the guitar flips the fuck out?
It was during that part that he hit me.
Everyone else called another friend, Seth Hudspeth, to go to the show anyways.
Two weeks later, Burn Baby Burn came to Harrison, and I got to see them finally. It was worth it.
(there was also a band from Portland that played, they were pretty sweet.. and by sweet, I mean loud. Which is equivalent to sweet)
