Each of the songs on this mixtape graced my naive ears in my formative years (aka before I was 18), "stolen moments" from my life's lexicon. Whether heard on a mixtape made by a former drumming instructor, found in a dusty $1.00 record bin, or recorded off the radio, these songs have truly stood my personal test of time. Now, peering into cyberspace through my computer screen, it is comforting in a way to know that these vinyl records actually exist in the real world, on my shelf, physical mementos representing memories, a kind of musical road map to my current state of mind.

This tape goes out to Shannon Sossamon (Slug & Murs Felt 1 & 2 stylee) and her kid Audio Science. It's not really hip hop instrumentals, more like ambient ish with occasional beats and vocal samples. It is titled so and will play a dual purpose because: 1) it will entice Shannon to join me in eternal bliss 2) its something to bump at work wiring cables together (hence the "Audio Science" title as well).

I grew up on hip hop. It was only later that I really got into politics (or rather, anti-politics). This mix is a fusion of two things that I am truly passionate about: hip hop music, and fuckin' anarchy. Now let me be clear. Not every song is a hip hop song ABOUT anarchism. These are songs to bump while manifesting dreams. Think of it as a State of the Union address given by hip hop's finest...

that machine looks fantastic.. but I am thinking about something much less cheap. I am thinking around the $200 pricerange. I don't care even about how old it is. I am pretty sure that I could work with just a sampler, and don't really need a drum machine anymore.

I gave you a positive score, I liked your mix. But coming at me like that is not necessary. Just because someone informs you of something or disagrees with does not make them an elitist. If I had marked you down for that difference in opinion, that would be elitist. Learn to hear different opinions. I was simply trying to show you that those bands are perhaps more well known than you realized. AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
