Keeping the down-tempo vibe for a little bit longer is this track by The Pine. One of my favourite bands to have emerged out of the DIY punk/hardcore scene in the US, however, calling them either would be a crime to thier wonderfully unique take on the genre. Opening with huge, shoegaze guitar chords, punctuated by a few wailing guitar bends, all drenched in reverb, it then drops away to complete minimalisim, with only the bass and vocals remaining, other than a few tom hits at the end of every bar. This man has an absolutely breathtaking voice. SHOW LESS
