description:
A quick collection of tracks documenting a beautiful, yet brief, love affair with a woman eighteen years my senior at one of Wellingtons famed art-bars Mighty Mighty.
Key points to remember while listening to this mix:
1) It was 2am.
2) I had been drinking since 4pm. (See: "I was off my tits")
3) Style-wise, I definitely looked like I didn't belong in the bar.
4) We spent an entire hour in each others company and only two things were said.
5) It was one of the most amazing moments I've had in life, thus far.

Track 3 from Uuu It's Teasy
Length: 00:03:45 Year: 2006 |

Track Description:
"It's good to be back." A strong start, shots and jugs at the bar, showing everyone who's alpha-drinking-male. At this rate, you're there for a good time, not a long time. "Naughty Holidays" is that song that's halfway through when you enter a bar. Their slight rockabilly sound has you ready to drink with hope of dancing later. SHOW LESS

Track 2 from Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No!
Length: 00:04:05 Year: 2006 |
|
Track Description:
"Do you boogie much?" The barmaid has asked that you dance of some of the alcohol. Under a restored disco ball, you see you have caught a lady's eye. And, for some reason, she seems to like your dancing. The Mint Chicks mix psychotics with a warning in this track. By the time you've forgotten that you've left the bar, you're in the middle of a mosh, trying to pick necklace off the floor. SHOW LESS

Track 3 from Pegasus
Length: 00:03:30 Year: 2005 |
|
Track Description:
"Thank you for the dance." How you came together is a mystery, but no one at the time is asking any questions. In amongst the crowded smokers room, you still found time to dance. You're all moshed and out the band has stopped playing. The house DJ pulls a slow one for you to wind down too. "Hitchcock" is what I'd liken to 'strange love'. SHOW LESS

Track 1 from Promises Promises
Length: 00:03:00 Year: 2007 |
|
Track Description:
"My name is Emily." Eventually, whether it be her or the alcohol, your vision leaves you and all you have left are those last and only words she spoke to you. She has left but you are still here and the bar is still open. The headliners kick in and you're back to thrash. With the line "I could never forget her if I tried" wailed out, it seems like a strange coincidence, or a sign, that Die! Die! Die! should open with this.. SHOW LESS

Track 6 from The Alphabetchadupa
Length: 00:05:04 Year: 2002 |
|
Track Description:
"Take me home, boys." As you exit the bar, the sun is creeping out over the hills as a friendly reminder that it's time for bed. One quick sesh on the beachfront then you stumble home and fall asleep on the couch, smiling as you do. Unlike a pill come down, Liam Finn lets you down gently but the strange, abrupt change of mood is still as obvious. Walking down a brightening street, half asleep, Betchadupa is a lovely nightcap.
