A short mix of songs, mostly ancient, that feature lovely Hammond b3 like organ parts. As simple and as wonderful as that!

One of my favorite three minutes and seven seconds of all time. This is the riff that became "Green Onions". Here, the organ underpins the whole song, with Rice Miller's vocal and harp upfront. As good as life gets.

Track 16 from The Best of Santana
Length: 00:06:35
Year: 1998
Track Description:
When Santana was a real band and not just a marketing franchise for crap collaborations with third grade contemporary pop stars, the keyboards were just as important as the guitar solos and Latin percussion. This is a wonderful early example. Remember them this way.

Track 6 from At Filmore East
Length: 00:13:06

Track Description:
The twin guitars of Dickey Betts and Duane Allman lead this astonishing live version, but the performance and the band would be nothing without Greg Allman's bubbling organ work. His solo breaks the piece up and at the same time rejuvenates it. Pound for pound, my favorite live recording of all time

Cool as hell.

Did you consider Lonnie Liston Smith at all? Or was he a bit too funky for this mix?

Just listened to Help Me. Incredible. Green Onions really sounds like a cover of it. I love the old footage of Donald playing bass on that track.
