My pick through some of the music releases of 2008 that floated my aging but hopefully still reasonably eclectic boat. Musically, the year was the same as usual only more so. Some unexpected joys, some expected joys becoming disappointments, some business as usual and a few select re-releases. There are releases I haven't mentioned because I just don't know what to say about them yet, or because I played them a few times and then abandonned them for other toys. Anyway, this was 2008 music from my angle. Enjoy 2009.

That doesw suprise me a little. I think it is Beck doing what he does best, creating quirky pop songs that jerk you around in a very satisfying way. This track sounds like Dick Dale developing a personality disorder mid-song which is another way of saying I like it. SHOW LESS

I quite like tracks 1, 9 and 11-13. I first heard track 2 from a mix exchange, and liked it very much, but couldn't find it in me to hear the rest of the album. Some magazines hyped Dennis Wilson's re-issue last year - any thoughts?

Very nice selections. I'll make my own 2008 summary when I have a day to spare. I think I rate the Nick Cave album higher than you, I love it a lot, right up there with his best I think. Anyway, great stuff.
