When I got a new laptop for graduation in May, I felt the need to create the perfect mix of songs to listen to first in order to consecrate my pristine new itunes. The resulting mix was a combination of some of my all-time favorite songs and my obsessions at the time.

I have a special affinity for Get Behind Me Satan, because I dropped my iPod in the bath tub around January and I didn't have my music backed up on my computer so, this being one of the few cds I owned, I listened to it practically non-stop for two months. That said, this is my favorite track off that cd. I read in an interview with Jack White that he got the idea for it when he was talking to Loretta Lynn about being on the road all the time with only Meg around. He said to her, "You know, sometimes I get lonely..." and Loretta Lynn said "Honey, you ain't that lonely yet." I find that very funny. Especially knowing that Meg was sitting right there as he explained this to the interviewer. SHOW LESS
